#MuseumMonday - Barbican Chilling
The Barbican Centre
The Barbican Centre
London's not so secret, hidden gem! Far from the busy touristy traps sits the monolith postmodern structure. The Barbican is Europe's largest multi-arts venue, with dedicated spaces for film, dance, theatre, art, it is also home to the London Symphony Orchestra.
Adding to that diverse and exhaustive list, this massive concrete building is also home to another treasure, a tropical oasis! With exotic fish and over 2000 species of tropical plants - it brings new meaning to the term "Concrete Jungle".
The conservatory is only open on select Sunday's, so it's best to plan this outing in advance!
What's on
In addition, to the Conservatory being my new favourite Sunday pastime the Barbican also boasts rotating exhibitions (Eames was one of it's most recent) and ground-breaking performances! Techno artist Actress recently performed here backed by the London Contemporary Orchestra. (I included a video to his BTS with Boiler Room below the gallery).
The Space
You may recognize it's Brutalist architecture from the many TV shows and films it's been featured in, ,most recently it was the site of MI6 in James Bond ; Quantum Of Solace, it's also been in countless shoots from Vogue and Wallpaper* magazines!
I was testing out the "silhouette" setting on my camera, hence the majority of my pics being dark and moody photos (No filters!)
