Besides bringing the best in luxury fashion and daily doses of editorial content, MR PORTER is also particularly adept at throwing a world-class party. Their #SummerSocial is the unofficial kickoff of summer here in London. Now in its second year - I had the pleasure of attending last year... so I'm a bit of an expert on the ways or MR P. Perfectly placed on Sunday of London Fashion Week Men’s, it ensures a guestlist comprised of a ‘who’s who’ of global menswear influencers and aficionados.
Besides standing next to game-changers like Garcon Jon and Nik Thakkar, there is also the chance to get better acquainted with both established and emerging brands on MR PORTER. And by acquainted I mean gifted and personalized, as MR PORTER doesn’t play when it comes to getting you kitted out for summer.
Ours for the taking this year were personalised glasses and monogram cases by ECCO, swim trunks from Thorsun, monogrammed goodies by Shinola, beaded bracelets by Mikia and embroidered towels from Cleverly Laundry as well as MR PORTER Hangover Kits amongst other luxe party favours!
This year’s event was held on the roof of London’s newest members club, The Curtain and its city-spanning views did not disappoint. Nor did the food or drink - mini fish & chips canapes, bowls and all the margarita, Negroni and G&Ts one could ever want.. floated about throughout the night.
I even got the chance to test my skill and depth perception (2 Negronis in) by playing the MR PORTER arcade, where I proved victorious winning some more luxe gifts!
