Mr. Porter Nocturne Recap
As detailed in my last post, last Saturday I got the chance to check out the Mr Porter sponsored London Nocturne. I took in the action from an ideal vantage point... the Mr Porter Hospitality Lounge and Garden. Situated at the finish line near One New Change and St. Paul's, I caught up with the Mr. Porter team and met some other London menswear bloggers I'm sure I'll be seeing more of over #LCM.
it was a lovely evening spent with both fun (Penny farthing and a folding bike race) and serious cycling (the Men's and Women's criterium). Between races, myself and the other attendees were treated to drive-bys by Mr Porter taxis and some seriously dandified riders!
Inside the hospitality lounge there was a chance to relax in wooden chairs on some of the (greenest astroturf I've seen outside of a stadium!) and a curated edit of sportswear and accessories on display inside the tents.
Guests in the lounge sipped on gin cocktails and wine with made-to-order burgers, salads, gelato, aubergine frites and my own personal favourite : rib-eye steaks from Stake Haus
Full disclosure as the sun set and we geared up for the final races I snuck off to eat another one and a half steaks. I ate them so fast there was barely even time for a snapchat let alone a proper pic! :P
All the days cycling action, (and the sports wear on display I couldn't help perusing) has inspired to get more active this summer! Mind you i'll be renting a Boris bike and heading to Hyde Park as opposed to hitting the city streets. As, I'm still learning to navigate the streets of London as a pedestrian. I can hardly think of cycling in style while also remembering to Look Left and dodge double-decker buses can I?
For those who are looking add some panache to their workout, or perhaps a great father's day gift idea you can shop the Mr. Porter Sport edit here
