My ability and interest in team sports... is limited at best. With my athletic shortcomings (save for the 100m dash) well documented on this site, this next post may come as a bit of a surprise. 

Perhaps it was the giant vintage "RAPTORS" logo that first appeared when I opened my emails, perhaps it was my knowledge of just how sumptuous The Elder Statesman cashmere is... but I simply had to share. The recently released collection is a collaborative effort between luxury cashmere brand The Elder Statesman and the NBA. With representation for all 30 teams in the form of cashmere beanies, scarves and sweaters ... you can play favourites with your hometown, jump on the bandwagon of the winning team or remain neutral with a simple intrarsia-knit "NBA" logo.

The convergence of sport and luxury fashion is a huge market, I myself was involved in designing luxury products for a certain National league a few years back. There is certainly money to be spent (and deep pockets at that!) on favourite teams both on and off the court. 

So whether it's a case of nostalgia or a desire to get a step ahead on what's sure to be a huge trend... the time is now to get in on the action! 

Looking to surprise a loved one with a cozy jumper from their favourite team this Christmas? Better start saving your pennies as this line ranges in price from $590 for silk/cashmere tshirts to $1620 for crewneck jumpers. A small step up from the average team memorabilia.
