Time for Change with JORD Wood Watches
My prayers to the Horological Gods have been answered, finally, a unique watch to take me from day to night whilst making a statement. I've teamed up with JORD watches, to share my favourite pick the Dover in Ebony and Rosewood. And offer you the chance to get a gift card towards your very own timepiece! The countdown to Christmas is on with JORD watches. ..
Keen-eyed readers will note how specific I am when it comes to accessories. Some might even say fanatical. I stick to a few core jewelry pieces (stacks of Links of London and Miansai bracelets) and not much else. Sunglasses and envelope sized man-clutches are a different story!
One piece noticeably missing from my signature arm party is (was!) a watch. Throughout the years, I've had my share of watches. Unfortunately, none have stood the test of time (sic!), leather straps get dirty or discolored and others I've found to be either too casual or too dressy for everyday wear. I knew I wanted a cool watch to add to my arsenal, so when the opportunity arose to collab with JORD watches - I jumped at the chance.
The watch I chose from JORD's wide array of timepieces is the automatic DOVER in Ebony & Rosewood. With it's sleek face, exposed inner movements and arresting colour combo it's already garnered extra attention in my first weekend of wearing. Crafted from ethically sourced wood from Brazil (Rosewood) and Mozambique (Ebony) the two materials combine for a striking contrast. Of course, I picked the most OTT watch from JORD, for those of you who prefer something a little more subtle there is also a selection of watches in a single wood finish, here.
In order to really test the limits of my new watch, I decided to style it for both day and night and set it against the background of two London icons. The London Eye, a nod to the exposed gears, and Big Ben, one of the most famous clocks in the world!
I also took a cue from the dark black Ebony and burnt Rosewood pairing and styled it with rich textural browns and slick black for my shoot. During the weekend, it also paired effortlessly with a black and white ensemble for a work dinner. And transitioned well for the day, energizing light denim and a simple tee. Check out the gallery below for how I styled the look along the River Thames, and transitioned to night as the sun began to set near Westminster.
