Summer is in full swing, and I've managed to carve out a little time for a midweek city-break. A few months ago, I shared some of 6 my packing essentials (here!) with a little help from Mr. Porter's weekend getaway edit.
Fast forward another few months and I received a travel kit from Mr. P with all the luxe travel items I'd need to make the most of my summer holiday plans. It should come as no surprise to learn that the team at Mr. Porter had literally thought of everything ... a monogrammed leather luggage tag from Shinola, printed bathing suit, travel size toiletries and even a journal and custom postcards for documenting the trip. All that was left for me to do was pick a destination!
While I mulled over the perfect locale, I figured it was time to update the essentials for high-summer. Below I've listed some key pieces for warmer climates. Throw in some tank tops, bracelets and the new black Nike MayFly's I've been wearing everywhere and you're ready! Bon Vacance!
Swimwear ...
Whether it be a beach or pool, I'm opting for swimwear brand Frescobal Carioca's geometric printed swim shorts and linen towels. Sunglasses ....
I'm a sucker for sunglasses, although I prefer to keep to keep my shades in the entry-level price point (raybans suit me just fine) as I used to be quite prone to forgetting or breaking pairs. I've since curbed that sense of carelessness and as a result have amassed quite the collection of Raybans with a few special pairs from Margiela, Lanvin and House of Holland. If you've come here looking for the tired old "round frames suit a square face" you can look elsewhere. I've never been one to obsess over "what shape is right for my face" and instead just pick up pairs and start trying, if you feel good - then you'll look good!
